Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association and are aged 6 – 8 years old. Beaver Scouts have lots of fun doing different activities, which include: making things, playing games, going on visits, making friends, earning badges and going away for a night on a sleepover.
Green Colony – Monday 5.15-6.30
Gold Colony – Tuesday 5.15-6.30
Cub Scouts are aged 8 to 10.5. Cubs take part in lots of fun activities like camping, going on trips, playing games and making things.
They enter sports competitions, go camping at least once a year and have visits from interesting people.

Wednesday Cubs 6 – 7.30pm
Thursday Cubs 6.30 – 8pm
Scouts are aged 10.5 to 14. They camp and take part in activities including sailing, kayaking, climbing, cooking, journalism, roller skating, trips abroad, karting, cycling and the list goes on.
Activities on a Troop Night can be anything from an Oxfam poverty awareness game to air rifles, cooking stir-fry to games in the woods.
Scouts meet Monday evenings 7.15-8.45
Our district explorer unit is active in Oakham and meet at the Scout hut on Wednesday 7.30 until 9pm.
Their activities are similar to the Scouts but the Explorers take a bigger part in organising the section. It is still leader led but they are given more responsibility.
